Letter to Reader

Becky Tugman

This book was written by upper-class undergraduate students at Clemson University in the course HLTH 4110- At-risk Children and Families.  The class project goal was to share current solutions for complex children and family issues.  The class utilizes the social ecological model as a framework to provide a variety of resources.

All chapters were researched using only reliable sources and cited in APA format. Students worked together to select their topics and find evidence-based solutions.  All of the students are first-time authors with little to no experience in publishing a piece of work. Throughout this class, students learned about the details of the publication process, citing images, and designing and editing a book chapter.

The HTLH 4110 students found this nontraditional class method to be rewarding and a refreshing alternative to traditional lecture-based formats. Enjoy their work, and hopefully, the resources mentioned can help a child or family in your community.

Thank you for your time.
